What happens when you mix Young Adults, parents, and a Love Walks missions trip in Mexico? The answer is an amazing weekend serving, with lots of memories and more than a few laughs too!
During the morning some of our volunteers joined the women at Nueva Creacion, the rehabilitation center where we have our Saturday evening fiesta. The Love Walks volunteers pampered the women doing nails, and such. Things I (Chris) couldn’t tell you the first thing about. What I can tell you is that it was a fun thing to watch as those who couldn’t always communicate in words managed to communicate through love and service!

Unfortunately I wasn’t at the other morning project, which was a construction project for Ulysses, a blind man whom we had the pleasure of meeting a few months ago. The construction team managed to add insulation and drywall to his new home, one he requested to be painted blue with white trim…on it!
After the morning projects the team enjoyed a mid-day break back at the condos. Along with lunch we had the pleasure of having Rich Graff join us to talk about his testimony. We learned about he and his wife Lila’s ministry in Mexico, and God’s call on them. It was a huge blessing and a reminder of how blessed we are in the ministry partners we work with!
Saturday afternoon we went to the food bank where we packaged and distributed roughly 100 bags of food. This ministry continues to provide fruits, allowing us to slowly move through the neighborhoods bringing food, and with it a willingness to converse and pray for those we meet.
Here the team is hard at work packaging the food into family size portions.
The dynamic duo below, cranking out bags faster than McDonalds packages a happy meal!
Below you see Aaron translating for other Love Walks volunteers while praying for a family. Olivia and Kim where our other translators. All three did an amazing job!

One of many great stories from the food distribution came from a visit with a woman whom we prayed with last month when distributing the food. She is pregnant and was very concerned with her babies health last month. After praying with her she soon visited the doctor again and received a clean bill of health for her and the baby. She was thrilled to share with us. So exciting to see God’s work through prayer!
Saturday night we enjoyed worship together, as well as a great debrief as we talked through the trip. We enjoyed a great night sleep Saturday and then joined Family of God Church Sunday morning.
After church we visited our favorite taco stand. Delicious!
Then a group picture before heading home.
Above you can see Dennis and his multiple aliases. He was just too easy a target, but a great sport!
All and all it was a fantastically successful first ever Parents Trip. With the momentum from this one we will be planning another one soon. Be sure to keep an eye out and join us next time!
