Chris Maddox

Executive Director/Servant

Chris is a photograph taking, travel loving, reader whose analytical tendencies are only surpassed by his “big picture” thinking. Having lived in Arizona since he was five Chris considers himself a native. After a role managing at a large retailer, then spending three years as a licensed banker, Chris found himself transitioning from the business world to the nonprofit world. His schooling followed suit as he changed his degree from Global Business to Nonprofit Leadership and Management. Staying with that degree program, Chris received his bachelors degree from Arizona State University, walking magna cum ladi. He graduated with a certificate in American Humanics and was also recognized with several scholarships his senior year, one a national leadership scholarship awarded by American Humanics.

In 2006, with a burden to lead young adults to serve, Chris founded Love God Love People. The organization was named after the gospel account of Christ responding to the question, “What are the greatest commandments?” Though years later the name would change to Love Walks, that mission has remained the same. In this mission, Chris has blessed with an arsenal of amazing men and women around him, pouring into him as God continues shaping his life. Chris has also been blessed with opportunities to travel around world. One such trip was an internship in Rwanda during the summer of 2009. Chris spent two months working with Food for the Hungry and Highlands Church, laying the ground work for a longterm relationship committed to development work and a gospel based partnership in a rural community. Following the internship Chris decided to remain in Phoenix and fully pursue Love Walks and the fulfillment of it’s mission. Though this took a great deal of his time and passion, it continued to be supplemented by his love of photography.

These days when Chris isn’t at work he can often be found reading, playing volleyball, or at Praxis where he currently attends church.

Candace Adley

Executive Coordinator

What does Merrill Lynch, Philosophy Cosmetics and San Francisco all have in common? If you guessed that they all are part of Candace’s story, then you would be right! Born in the San Fransico Bay Area, Candace is a west coast girl at heart. But don’t let that fool you, she is a tough one to peg. How many people do you konw that can earn a A.A. degree in Merchandise Marketing from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, go on to kick butt and take names at Merrill Lynch, and then jump into a small grass roots NGO just at the right time to make a huge impact! This is exactly what Candace has done. Along with having incredible planning skills, and an amazing gift of discernment, she is the ultimate team player, and a person that people just genuinely want to be around.

Today Candace calls Phoenix home, though she insists on visiting San Francisco a few times a year. She loves spending time with friends, catching a funny movie, and road trips. What she doesn’t love is gluten, or as she would say, “I don’t love gluten because gluten doesn’t love me!”. All that said, to know Candace is to know her heart for Christ, and the fact that no matter how set she may be on an idea, she always comes back to him for direction.

Julie Dobbs

Manager of Finance and Administration

How to tell you about Julie? Well, Julie is to Love Walks as Radar was to Hawkeye. Or for the younger generation, Julie is to Love Walks what Cory was to Sean- she keeps it all together. Every well developed organziation needs a well developed system, and for that organization is key. Julie is an organizational guru. If Office Max had a fan page for their aisle of organizational stuff, Julie would be it’s first fan. But this only makes sense. God has wired Julie in a specific and valuable way. She is reliable, trustworthy, and capable of doing the little things that need to be done for an organization to be sustainable.

Julie is currently finishing her degree at Arizona State University, majoring in Business Management from the W.P. Carey School of Business. She has worked in a variety of organizations ranging from retail, to church offices. In each she has jumped with  joy every time something needs organizing, especially if she can incorporate the color pink into the labeling system. When she isn’t at school or in the Love Walks office you can usually find her spending time with her close group of friends, or pouring into younger girls at the church.

When asked about her role with Love Walks Julie responded by saying, “Through Love Walks, God has shown me in a very tangible and clear way how the gift He has given me (administration) can be used in a way that is glorifying to Him, and will ultimately further His kingdom.” She couldn’t be more right!
